The JK Problems:

As most JK owners know, the new Wrangler came from the factory with some issues. Reading through various websites and boards all over the world, those vehicles have similar challenges everywhere. Not surprisingly, Jeep came back with a recall in the USA and Australia and some in Europe.

To check if your vehicle is subject to a recall visit the Jeep-Recall Page and fill in the last 8 digits of your VIN number.

On this page we want to address problems we experience and offer info where possible:

WINDSHIELD CRACKED:
I heard of a lot of broken windshields before. Now it was my turn. the truck sat on a parking lot. I doubt it was a rock or sudden heat change.

REAR WINDOW HEATING:
The wire for the heating of the rear window ripped off. Since it was just a couple of weeks after the warranty ran out I hope for Chrysler to still fix it for free.

WET HEAD LIGHT LENSES:

The inside of the lenses of the head lights show condensate. The European Jeeps have lights made by Hella.

No recall in Germany (yet).

LEAKING HARD TOP:
The top was leaking badly along the windshield frame on the pillars but also in the middle. The truck was at the dealer's twice without any improvements.

Here's what I found on the internet:
